Hallelujah

from Cerulean by Taylor Mesple

about

A song of reflection and gratitude to God. Intentionally fragmented word pictures attempting to describe something/someone indescribable. Like trying to sketch the ocean.

"Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky." -Old Hymn

lyrics

Your kingdom grows
As strongholds crumble
Your mercy for me (flows)
Hallelujah

Our old men dream
Our young men see visions
You speak through me
Hallelujah

We're free indeed
You ran to redeem us
Eternal light in me
Hallelujah

credits

from Cerulean, released August 11, 2016
I played electric guitar, sang vocals and mixed the tune. Brad Nyght was the mastermind behind the drum/bass programming and keyboards. He co-produced the song with me and created all that lush soundscape.
